Soil acidification can have a negative affect at all depths and if left untreated can take a drastic toll on any organic materials attempting to grow.

Over time, soil acidification worsens and its severity can range from damaging plant roots, right through to causing soil sterility within the soil bed itself.

One of most viable solutions to combat this process relies on addition of lime to the soil from remote deposits, but the requirement to invest in this calcium-rich mineral can pose an unnecessary expense.

At Liquid Labs WA, we have developed a unique lime content testing kit called the Neutralising Value (or ‘NV’) Testing Kit that allows near-instant spot checks of soil to identify any lime deposits, which in turn can be used to fight the spread of acidification.

Soil acidity can be inevitable and pH fluctuations can occur as a result. When these events do occur, a farmer will typically have two choices:

  • Invest in lime rich products that can cause costs to mount over the years
  • Evaluate the condition of their own soil to find potential lime deposits and minimise their costs in the process

With our Lime Content Testing Kit, you’ll receive all that you need to evaluate the condition of your soil and enjoy rapid results, without needing to wait for the standard timeframe of weeks or more.

Within your kit, you’ll find all the components you need to really understand how to use your local lime to treat a condition that affects thousands of farmers each year.

The process is incredibly simple. You’ll find full instructions within your package, but to give you an idea of just how straight forward using our kit is:

  • You’ll start by obtaining a sample of your soil ready to be tested
  • With your soil safely stored, you’ll be prompted to add hydrochloric acid
  • Once contact is made, you can then introduce sodium hydroxide to the formula
  • While monitoring the reading, keep adding sodium hydroxide until the pH level hits 7.0
  • The amount of sodium hydroxide you use will correlate with the data sheets provided in your kit, which in turn will tell you the condition of your soil

It really is that simple. In fact, that’s just one of the reasons why so many farmers across WA (and the entire country) are turning to our NV Testing Kit.

Other reasons include the incredibly affordable price, the ability to enjoy rapid results and the potential to rinse/repeat until you find yourself in need of a refill.

Why spend weeks waiting for results from a lab when you could dedicate a tiny portion of your day to readying your soil for your next crop?

With our portable, affordable and user-friendly testing kit, you’ll be able to spend more time planning for what’s important without having to lose sleep.

Once you know how your soil is performing, you can set about introducing a solution to ameliorate soil acidity and enhance your potential for a great harvest.

Although lab testing is still required to gain accurate results on the type of lime and how effective it will be in being used as a soil additive, the benefit of using our portable sample testing kit is that you are not flying blind sending in random samples of your soil to get tested. The NV Testing Kit allows you to only select samples from actual lime beds within your property.

Thousands of farmers have suffered due to low quality soil. Not only can it slow the growth of produce, but in the worst instances it can bring things to a complete standstill.

Our NV Testing Kits work by evaluating the presence of lime and if a worthwhile volume is discovered, you’ll be able to put that deposit to good use instead of having to turn to often expensive outside resources.

Even the slightest pH imbalance could take its toll on soil and if left untreated, it can continue to get worse over time.

We haven’t met many farmers that wouldn’t want to ensure the quality of their soil, but so many simply lack the time or knowledge to do so. That’s what led to the development of our testing kit.

Lime suppliers will often charge high prices and can supply a product that you may actually already have an abundant supply of on your property. That’s why so many farmers are turning to us.

Our team understands the need to enjoy rapid results in an NV Testing Kit that comes as a full- package.

Our NV Testing Kit contains everything you need to seamlessly get to grips with the presence of lime in your soil. We also offer refill products tester refills to keep you going well into the future.

Industry experts recommend pHCa grades of 5.5 for your top soil and 4.8 within the subsurface of your field. Anything outside of this mark could represent a chemical imbalance - or the presence of acidity.

With our NV Testing Kit at to hand, you could inspect your soil for the main component used to deter acidification and maximise the health of your field with minimal fuss.
